An attractive vintage signed Birks 14k yellow and white gold gentleman's ring with diamonds c1950s. The size is approximately size 14, or may be a little larger, as our ring sizer bar doesn't go any higher. This ring is stamped BIRKS (indistinct), it tests as 14k gold and it comes with a conservative independent gemmologist appraisal. The diamonds include: one brilliant cut diamond .22ct I-1 F-G colour, two single cut diamonds SI2/I1 I-J colour 0.05ct total; the ring weighs 4.8 grams and it appraised for $1,000 CAD (in 2008). Please note that the large diamond has a tiny chip, which can be hidden if the diamond is rotated so that the chip is hidden by the claw (an simple alteration by a jeweller). This item is in excellent original condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A wonderful gift! This is a stylish and opulent 17-3/4" necklace in 14k yellow gold, set with genuine diamonds and genuine deep blue sapphires. The pendant itself measures 2" across and 1-3/8" long; it is set with 40 claw-set diamonds totalling approximately 90 points. It also has four deep blue sapphires - the three facetted oval stones on the drop measure 5 mm x 4 mm. and the round at the top is 3 mm. across. All are bezel set, and the pendant is pinioned giving movement to each "wing" segment, the drops and the individual stones. It has a lobster claw closure, it is stamped 585 MEGA D'OR 478 on the loop and 14K on the clasp. This size 6-1/2 ring features three excellently matched 4.5 mm (each) genuine blue sapphires in a deep royal to medium navy blue; the ring measures 5/8" x 3/16" across the top and it weighs 3.3 grams. The stones are natural genuine blue sapphires with excellent clarity (the slight streaks on the surface caused by photographer's finger grime, they aren't on the stones themselves).
