This 1-1/4" x 1" locket features a 2 point rose cut diamond in an engraved star on one side; this locket retains its two retaining bezels and it has two celluloid windows. A great example of Victorian period sentimental or mourning hair jewellery c1870-80. This is a 15k yellow gold hair brooch, with a centrally set genuine 12 pt. rose cut diamond and a compartment on the back containing a curl of blonde hair with a silk cord. The brooch is unmarked but tested and is guaranteed to be gold, and the diamond has been checked with a gemologist. The hair compartment on this 1-7/8" x 1-1/8" pin has the original bevelled glass, and this pin weighs 9.2 grams. The original c-clasp is still present, and it has a small loop for a safety chain (not present).
