An ornate and unusual mid-Victorian period nickel plated watch chain c1870s-80s. This 13-5/8" chain is 7/16" wide and it consists of six nickel plated oblong links with fine tooling; each link is attached by thick loops. Each link has gold plated engraved inserts held with three thin metal bands. It has a swivel and it is unsigned and unmarked. Oddly every other link is missing the gold insert although the thin retention bands are present on all but one link. This item is in good condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than the loss of the inserts and of some of the plating. All

A truly unusual 12" spring-loaded expanding Victorian gold plated over brass watch chain, with mother of pearl sections. This 1/2" wide chain features engraved round links with pierced loops, round thick plain loops and designed flattened patterned loops; it also has two spring-loaded segments with mother-of-pearl inserted sections. Each spring segment has engraving and finely made pivots and channels for the expansion spring; one has what appears to be either an old repair or for some other purpose, possibly a hanging component. It has one original swivel and one that has been added later; it has no identifying marks of any kind. We haven't seen a chain of this style before, and we've seen hundreds. An excellent curiosity. This item is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, dents, corrosion, damage or repairs other than some bending and the loss of one wire to the grooved links, some minor wear to the gold plating, the addition of one swivel and the possible alteration to one spring segment. All

An intricately molded late Art Deco vintage coral celluloid floral ring from the late 1930s. This huge ring consists of the 1-7/8" x 11/16" floral celluloid top, which is riveted to a vintage size 5 gold-plated brass signet-style ring. We do not think this is a later addition, it appears to have been made and sold this way originally. It is has small cream-white highlights in imitation of real coral, and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some wear to the gold plated shank's plating. A truly exceptional piece - this is a vintage mid 1930s coral coloured Catalin celluloid bangle bracelet. The end of the bracelet is not closed, it pierces the other end, without being attached. This bracelet measures 2-1/2" across the interior (the inserted end does slide just a very slight bit slightly through the opening - pushing it additionally is not recommended for this material, however - old plastics such as Bakelite, celluloid, Catalin and even Galalith are more brittle than modern plastics). It is 1-1/4" at its widest. It is a wonderful coral colour, a colour that became popular in the mid-1930s. This item is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, stains, losses, damage or repairs, but someone went mad and tested it with a hot pin, so there is a tiny pin hole inside the bangle. About hot pin testing - not a good test for vintage Bakelite, Catalin or celluloid, whatever you have read elsewhere, as it not only damages the piece, but also releases unhealthy chemical fumes. There are safer/less damaging tests. We used the hot water test with this, which produced a slightly unpleasant chemical smell.

A huge and wild looking late 1930s retro silver plated bracelet consisting of six 1-1/4" wide and 2-1/4" long slightly conical panels linked together. The panels have semi-circular arches standing 1/4" above the surface of the links. Amazingly this fine piece of work is unsigned, it has a safety chain with springring catch and a snapover clasp.
