A vintage 19th century French .950 silver 7" seal or flat top long spoon. This finely crafted sterling silver flatware piece features an unengraved end "seal", an engraved double tapered shaft and a fancy engraved bowl with full engraving on the front and on the heel. It has the maker's mark for H. Lemane and the Minerva head silver mark (in use post 1838). We aren't sure of the use of this attractive item; it weighs 25.9 grams and it is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A nicely embossed pair of sterling silver open salt dishes with salt spoons by Gorham. These 2" diameter open salts feature floral embossing and scalloped rims; they are stamped with the lion/anchor/G Gorham mark, STERLING, 2235 (pattern number) with the 1889 year mark. The 2-1/8" matching salt spoons also have the Gorham mark with STERLING. This set of two salts and two spoons weighs 40.4 grams, and it is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. An early Chinese export silver 3" tall pepper or spice shaker c1780s-1820s. This shaker has high relief branches and flowers with branch arms; the work is detailed and finely executed. The threaded top fits snugly, and it is stamped with the maker's mark CS (probably Cum Shing of Canton) struck twice. This item weighs 39.7 grams and it is in excellent original condition with no dents, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some bending on the foot rim (easily fixed). A nice Georgian 12-1/8" sterling silver stuffing spoon, fully hallmarked for London, England 1809-10 in the fiddle pattern. Made by Wm. Eley, Wm. Fearn & Wm. Chawner (registered 1808), this spoon weighs 142 grams, it has a family crest with a unicorn and the phrase "ORA ET LABORA" ("Pray and Work", the motto of St. Benedict). This footed cream jug features ornate relief work with a fancy handle and feet; it has the W.K maker's mark for William Kersill (est. 1749). A scarce 3-1/4" x 2-1/2" single slice lemon squeezer in 900 silver c1900-20, made by Tackhing. We've seen various silver or silver plated versions over the years, but this is the first silver Chinese export silver example we've run across. It is nicely made, and is stamped TACKHING 90% SILVER MADE IN H.K.. It weighs a substantial 55.4 grams, and it is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A very rare American coin silver 10-1/4" cake saw (cake knife) in the Medallion of Dionysus pattern, introduced in 1863 by Hotchkiss & Schreuder of Syracuse, New York (1864-1871+). Later re-issued in sterling silver (1867), this rare serving piece has the early H&S mark; the hand engraving and stippling is stunning, as is the thickness of the knife and the clarity of the design. This unusual piece weighs an impressive 95 grams (3 ounces), it has a Gothic MR monogram, and it is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. An elegant, high quality 19th century pair of 800 silver German 8" viande serving forks in their original fitted box c1850-60. These forks are stamped 800 with the crown and eagle mark (Frankfurt, pre-1888) with an obscured maker's mark. The 9" x 3-1/2" box is a tan coloured watered silk with a Greek key border and bronze coloured fittings with a patterned silk interior lid and cotton fitted platform with twisted cord trim. The forks weigh 83 grams, they have traces of the original gilding, and this set is in excellent original condition with no corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some dents and bends to one tine of one fork (easily repaired) and some slight rubbing to the box's edges and some interior spotting and staining.
