An absolutely beautiful hand painted footed comport by Pickard. This American company specialized in hand painting blanks from various companies; this is a 10" across and 5-5/8" tall footed comport or tazza on an MZ Austria blank. The beautiful hand painting features drooping flowers and a band of floral sprays on a yellow/green ground, all with ornate and stylish gold decoration. The body is a textured gold on the inside and on the pedestal. This pattern is known as Encrusted Linear, and this is in the cream variant (there is a green version as well) and it dates from c1912-18 (also known as Pickard mark number 7). The comport has an impressed 1310 shape number, and this beautiful Art Nouveau piece is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than slight touches of gold loss at the extreme tips of the bowl; there is a small 1/16" factory pit or flaw in the center of the bowl that was painted in gold at the factory (probably a burst glaze bubble). All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $20 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US.
