A rare, early English flow blue covered entree or casserole dish c1860. This serving piece stands 7" high with the lid, and it measures 11-1/4" x 10-1/2". It has a floral style motif, and it has a pseudo Chinese mark, minor variants of which were used by Charles Meigh (1835-49), Charles Meigh & Son (1851-61) and also Job Meigh (c1805-34), all of Hanley, Staffordshire; we feel it dates c1850-60 but it could be of earlier manufacture. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, losses, damage or repairs other than a tight 2-1/2" hairline crack on the lid and some scattered craze lines on the top and bottom. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping starts at $28 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card; items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US.

A scarce and early red and white transfer large 10-1/2" rim soup bowl c1830s, in the Tadmor In The Desert pattern. From Jackson's Warranted (England) Holy Bible series, this early c1830s bowl is in fair original condition with no cracks, or repairs; it has the following condition notes - some minor inner rim losses (largest shown is 1/2", looks like a spoon rested in that spot for about 150 years, the rest are small), some minor outer edge glaze flakes, loss of gloss and fine network of cutmarks to the bowl interior from decades of use (not affecting transfer), allover crazing visible on back only, stained area on back. In fine condition considering its age, this scarce bowl shows quite well. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. Uninsured surface shipping starts at $9.50 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card; credit card items will be shipped to confirmed billing addresses only. A large and stunning pair of mid nineteenth century European porcelain centerpiece bowls in the form of swans. Made as dining room table decorations with an open center for flowers, fruit, etc., these large and beautifully detailed swans are probably German in origin (both are unmarked). A splendid and attractive Arts and Crafts 9-1/2" vase, made by Stellmacher, Teplitz (Bohemia). This vase has three handles mounted at the base, and a wonderful raised slip decoration of leaves and flowers in yellow, cream, burnt orange and brown. It has a mottled grey/brown body, with a finely mottled brown and green base and top with decorative green lines. The throat has grey mottling on the interior as well, and this decorative vase bears the Stellmacher Teplitz mark as well as a handpainted 2251 1 pattern number. There are painted brown lines to simulate the appearance of great age, as well giving a nice rustic appeal to this vase. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, repairs or damage other than some craze lines, which don't affect the appeal of this vase. Surface shipping is $14 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US.

A rare English Prattware commemorative cream or milk jug c1798-1806, which we believe was issued to commemorate either the Battle of the Nile (a significant English military battle of 1798) or the battle of Trafalgar (1805), a most significant English military battle still commemorated today in England on Trafalgar Day. This 5-3/8" tall jug has stylized portraits of Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson and Captain Edward Berry with orange, brown, cobalt and green glazes on the high-relief modelling. Prattware is not often found in perfect condition, and this piece is not, either. This jug is unrestored except for a primitive and early reattachment of the bottom of the handle. There is some interior browning and staining, some overall crazing and some exterior browning on the spout. The bottom of the handle is missing and the bottom third has been crudely cemented in place. This jug is well worth having professionally restored, and it is a seldom seen English historic commemorative. It is in fair unrestored condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or damage other than stated above. Shipping is $12 to the US, insured is higher. We ship internationally, and all prices are in $US. Please note that we do not accept Paypal.
