A Galloway or Mirror Plate or Virginia EAPG vinegar Cruet. This 8-1/2" tall (including stopper) early American pattern or pressed glass vinegar cruet was made by US Glass and Jefferson Glass Co. (Toronto) from c1900-25. This item is in excellent original condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a tiny 1/16" flake to one rib near the neck (barely noticeable) and the loss of most of the original gold wash to the handle and upper rim. The stopper fits tightly although we aren't sure that it is original. An Edwardian 15k Mother of Pearl 6 button set in original box circa 1900 1910. The antique mother-of-pearl shirt or vest buttons with 15k yellow gold criss-cross centers and loops (unmarked but tested) comes in the original presentation box/case. This set consists of the 5-1/4" x 1-3/8" dark brown leather-covered box with gold trim, containing six 9/16" across gold and mother-of-pearl buttons plus six gold plate over brass spiral button attachment loops. The box is fitted with a royal purple velvet platform and silk lined top. It is stamped BROOK & SON GOLDSMITHS TO THE KING 87 GEORGE STREET EDINBURGH on the silk. This 11-1/2 x 4-5/8" serving dish has an acid stamp mark with the Roden mark with the word THOMAS (possibly the pattern name or the retailer). A large and elegant European silver goblet of modern design by Wilhelm Binder of Schwabisch Gmund (Germany), established in 1869. This goblet apparently dates c1900-10. It measures 8-3/4" (24cm) in height, and measures 4-1/4" (just under 11 cm) across the rim. It weighs approximately 227 grams. It is stamped with the German post-1886 crescent moon and crown mark, 835 WTB and has a company number of 73123 and a small punch mark we could not make out. It has not been monogrammed or inscribed, and it is in excellent condition, with no dents, breaks, corrosion, repairs or damage. An antique embroidered silk with cotton back bed hanging or valance from the Xuantong era in the late Qing period 1908 - 1912. This beautiful fringed antique valance has fine embroidery, including gold thread and multi-color silk thread depicting flowers, butterflies, fish, people and many other symbolic figures and images, with fine short and long stitch embroidery and extraordinarily fine seed stitching. It is mounted on a pinkish cotton backing and it has a fine 7" fringe and edge netting. There are some black silk embroidered characters with the Xuantong era date. It has sewn red loops on the back of the fringe edge for the suspension of some article(s) and the top has a sewn fold for hanging much like a curtain-on-rod. The fabric section measures 81-1/2" x 18-1/2 inches. These fine embroideries were usually made to add to the bed of the newly married couple by the bride or her family. This item is in mostly excellent vintage condition with no tears, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor soiling to the cotton backing and some traces of thumbtacks from previous hangings and slight wear. A 800 solid hand engraved Italian lidded canister or box circa 1930-35. This lovely silver item is gilded on the interior and it has a lobed design with ornate floral engraving. It could possibly have been for cigarettes, although similar items were also prodiced to hold sugar or tea. It is stamped 800 MILANO and A RONCHI on the bottom. The jewellery firm August Ronchi opened in Milan, Italy in 1929 - this firm sells mostly high end jewellery and watches, but has also produced lovely quality silver items in the past. The case is fully hallmarked for Sheffield England 1918, it weighs 9.0 grams and it is engraved A. OSBORNE. CANADIAN ENG 21st MAR 1916 22nd OCT. 1918. It was made by S. Mordan & Co. and the pencil is marked HB *ROYAL SOVEREIGN E WOLFF & SON BRITISH MAKE. A Royal Bayreuth village scene with birds creamer and sugar. This 3-5/8" tall porcelain lidded sugar bowl and matching 2-7/8" high creamer were made by Royal Bayreuth, Bavaria (Germany) c1910-20. The creamer depicts a lady tending geese in front of a village scene with two geese on the back; the sugar bowl shows a gentleman tending turkeys with a village scene with turkey hens on the back. each piece is tgrimmed in gold and they have the Bayreuth mark plus a 22 pattern mark. An S Kirk and Sons sterling silver repousse nut serving bowl and matching spoon. The 6-1/2" diameter bowl and 5-1/4" long spoon both have the high-relief floral repousse work this quality American silver firm was known for. It is on on the bowl's rim and on the spoon handle and in the bowl, which also has a relief scene of fruit including pineapple, grape, apple and strawberry. The spoon's bowl measures 2" across. Both pieces have a fancy S monogram, and each is stamped S. KIRK & SON STERLING. The pattern number 409 is on the bottom of the bowl. An English sterling silver curb link watch chain with an escutcheon shape medal or award fob. The 14 3/8" length antique watchchain has individual lion passant marks and the watch swivel has the company mark of Henry Williamson Ld (known 1895 - ?). The fob, which appears to be a football award, has the makers mark of William H Haseler and the Birmingham 1915 year mark. The shield in the centre has rse gold and two ornate iniitials, possibly ST. There is one swivel, possibly this was being worn as a unique necklace. It is overall is mostly very good to excellent condition for its age and usage but the swivel loop does show visible wear, and the lion passant marks on the chain appear worn, as is often the case with these sterling chains. A massive Neoclassic English sterling silver centerpiece basket, fully hallmarked for Sheffeld 1910. Made by the firm James Dixon & Sons, this basket is a prime example of quality Edwardian silver done in the revivial of design from a century earlier. It has gadrooned edges, scroll and leaf edge terminals, and berried wreath designs. This 16-3/4" x 11" beauty weighs an impressive 1010 grams (approximately 32.5 troy ounces) of sterling silver. It was presented as an award, and it has the following inscription at the center of the bowl: PRESENTED TO W.T. GENT, Esqre. J.P., IN RECOGNITION OF 30 YEARS SERVICE AS CHAIRMAN OF THE RURAL DISTRICT COUNCIL OF MISTERTON 11th MARCH 1925." Mr. Gent was the Justice of the Peace of the small town and rural area of Misterton, Nottinghamshire, England, and the inscription also has the names of other council members. This basket is solidly made and heavy, and it was actually plated with sterling over the original parcel gilding (polishing has revealed gilding under polished silver areas, rather than vice-versa). As this basket was bought on the secondhand market for presentation some 15 years after its manufacture, the purchasers opted to silver over the existing gilding, which was considered somewhat ostentatious and contrary to the British taste of the day. Some of the gilding is visible on the ribbon openwork, on the upper section of the base, and on the inscription area. Further polishing will reveal the intact gilding under the thin sterling plating done probably at the time of presentation. This wonderful survivor is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the areas of exposed gilding. A Webster sterling silver swing handle candy or bonbon basket from 1900. This Queen Anne style basket has an openwork handle, a gadrooned design and a script GDH monogram in the interior. It measures 6-1/4 x 4-3/8" and it stands 1-1/2" high without the 4" high handle. It is stamped with STERLING and the Webster silver mark and it weighs 66.1 grams. It is in excellent condition with no bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than the monogram and some very slight dents on the initial area. An Arts and Crafts period 800 silver and cut glass claret jug circa 1900. This antique large claret decanter has a heavy silver handle and hinged top with a ball thumb rest setd on a cut crystal decanter. It measures 13-7/8" in height and 5-1/2" across the base. It is stamped Gebr. Friedland, a Berlin jewellery retai firml, operated by the sons after the death of the founder Friedland in 1829. It has the German silver quality marks (post-1888 crescent & crown stamp), 800 silver, 49961 and the manfacturer's mark for Koch & Bergfeld of Bremen (est. 1829). There is a very finely engraved heraldic family crest with a fish, knight's helmet with three feathers and engraved scrolling. This this top quality rarity is in excellent condition with no cracks, etching or discoloration, silver corrosion or damage, repairs or alterations; there is a 1/4" chip to the crystal on the bottom rim which is only slightly noticeable when the piece is displayed from that side. A great example of late Victorian Art Nouveau tableware. This is a fine satin-finish green gradient-style serving or candy dish on its original Art Nouveau silverplated stand. The 5" across dish stands 3" high, it has a nice medium green colour and satin finished panels flanked by gloss-finished ribs. The 5-1/2" English-made stand (marked EPNS) stands on bun feet, has has screw and bolt mounts and high relief flowers and leaves on the base; the handles are in the form of sinuous tendrils, a favourite Art Nouveau motif. An Edwardian gold filled long watch chain with a 14k opal slide from 1900-10. This elegant 25-1/2" doubled nugget or twisted serpentine chain has a swivel end marked S.O.B. & Co (S.O. Bigney & Co.) and the single strand chain is 1/16" wide. The 1/4" across slide has a colourful natural cabochon opal and it tests as 14k gold.
