A decorative and ornate mid-Victorian 9-1/4" tall figural egg warmer c1860s. This silverplated table serving dish is as ornamental as it is useful - it is in the form of an egg with a bird finial. The finial is ornately cast and the hand-made retaining loop-form nut is in the form of a clutch of three eggs from the top. The lid is stamped 391, which is the only marking on this item. The scroll legs are fancy and the base has an indentation for a small candle or burner; there is a silverplated wirework footed interior support for four eggs. The bolts holding the burner tray are handmade and the base metal is brass. There is an engraved dedication on one side stating: PRESENTED TO ST. ROLLOX BOWLING CLUB BY THOMAS ROSS ESQr. WON BY MR. JOHN CRAWFORD, 1868. The club was established in Glasgow, Scotland in 1857, and this award trophy is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some wear to the silverplating on the lid showing some brass, a patch of dullness on the bird finial's back, and some brass showing under the engraved inscription. All
items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the U.S. starts at $13.50 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. NOTE: we DO NOT accept PayPal.

A nice quality, colourful and vintage c1880-1910 Chinese enamel figural box in the form of a chrysanthemum blossom. This 4-1/2 x 3-3/8" covered box stands 2-5/8" tall, it has very high relief detail and the enamel is in yellow/gold, robin's egg blue, yellow/green and green. The enamelled interior is completely robin's egg blue, and the word CHINA is just barely visible under the enamel on the base within the foot. This item is in excellent original condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than one area of enamel loss to the lid's rim (see picture), some other areas of minor wear and loss and some black spots from the manufacture of the piece. There are also some minor stress cracks on the interior blue enamel only. All flaws are quite minor and this box looks to be in excellent original condition. All
items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Surface shipping to the continental U.S. starts at $8.50 (other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. A rare and wonderful find. This is a matching set of six 8-3/4" Chinese porcelain blue and white plates from the late Kangxi period (1662-1722). These Kang Hsi plates have a beautiful panelled decoration with blossoms and flowers, with a cricket on all but one. The porcelain is quite fine and it has the expected glaze dimples and the occasional bit of frit. Each has a design on the underside of the rim and each has an unusual circled lotus flower mark on the base of the plate. This scarce matching set of six is in very good original condition with the following condition notes: one is excellent without damage, one two tiny rim abrasions and one edge flake (1/8"), one hairline crack from rim to edge of center and two small edge flakes, one moderate foot-rim chips, one 1/8" rim chip and light footrim chips, one very slight foot-rim chips. There is no staining or crazing, and each has very, very slight cutmarks not affecting the design. Surface shipping starts at $38 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. NOTE: we DO NOT accept PayPal.

A finely cut signed Elite (Clapperton) brilliant cut crystal American Brilliant period 8" diameter fruit bowl c1900-05. G.H Clapperton went to work for Gowans and Kent of Toronto in 1899-1900, producing the first recognized Canadian brilliant cut glass on high quality blanks. (He left the firm in 1905 to go out on his own, and Gundy-Clapperton also produced high quality brilliant cut glass). This bowl features fine deep cutting with hobstars and trillium flowers and cross cutting - we have not been able to identify the pattern. It is a fine quality blank bowl, measuring just a bit over 3/8" thick at the rim. It has the Elite maple leaf round acid stamp mark in the center of the bowl. This item is in excellent original condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a 1/8" edge chip on one of the decorative rays (see image). All

A 19th century Staffordshire china cottage c1850-60s. It is the flat back type, and measures 4 1/4" high and 3 7/16" across. The colouration is simple - yellow ochre and rust-brown. It is overall in excellent condition for its age except for a small chip on the chimney and wear to the painted decoration. The bocage around the roof eaves is in excellent shape (very minor loss, not noticeable) and no cracks, crazing, staining or repairs. Cottages are hard to find, and this is a nice example. All
items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. A fine looking 19th century Staffordshire figurine of a girl with a basket of fruit riding a goat c1840-60. It measures 7 1/2" high and 5 1/2" at the widest. It is a fully decorated and figured Staffordshire figure, not a flat back style. It is in excellent condition except for one detail - the tip of the girl's foot is chipped. Other than that, it is in exceptional shape - no cracks, crazing or repairs, and the paint in in excellent shape. There is a firing crack on the back of the girl's neck, but it is original to the manufacture of the piece, and does not detract. A fine example. All
items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
