A scarce form, and we've only seen a few of these lockets. This is an Edwardian sterling silver 1-1/2 x 1-1/8" photo locket pendant with hinged photo "pages" which hold two photographs each. It is stamped STERLING, it has an engine turned design on the interior and it has fine hand engraving on the front. The shield has never been monogrammed and the plain back is unadorned. It weighs 18.8 grams, it has both photo retaining bezels and one celluloid or thin plastic window (you'll need to cut another one), and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, monograms, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the missing window and a repair to one spring wire on the clasp (it needed resoldering). All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. A bit of ornate style from a bygone era All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use as would be expected. $225.00
A sterling silver modern design Consul (Switzerland) ladies wrist watch circa 1970. The brushed face has a gradient colour, from chocolate to golden amber. The hands are silver, and the body of the watch is an abstract modernist plain solid cuff style. The back of the cuff has a clever and unusual gate type of closure to allow it to be easily taken on and off, unlike a cuff bracelet. The clasp works well and there is a safety chain and this watch weighs 48.0 grams. The face is marked Consul and Swiss Made, and it is a 17 jewel manual wind works. The back has an RW mark, as well as 925 sterling mark, a German crescent moon and crown, a floral oval hallmark and the (model?) numbers 5391 and 22. It measures 1 11/16" at the widest but tapers to a width of 5/8" at the narrowest, and the widest interior measurement is 2 3/8" across. It is currently working and keeping time and it appears to be in good working order, but we cannot offer a guarantee as we have no idea when it was last cleaned. It is in excellent condition - no damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Barnard and it weighs an impressive 810 grams. An impressive Neoclassic English sterling silver centerpiece basket, fully hallmarked for Sheffeld 1910. Made by the firm James Dixon & Sons, this basket is a prime example of quality Edwardian silver done in the revivial of design from a century earlier. It has gadrooned edges, scroll and leaf edge terminals, and berried wreath designs. This 16-3/4" x 11" beauty weighs an impressive 1010 grams (approximately 32.5 troy ounces) of sterling silver. It was presented as an award, and it has the following inscription at the center of the bowl: PRESENTED TO W.T. GENT, Esqre. J.P., IN RECOGNITION OF 30 YEARS SERVICE AS CHAIRMAN OF THE RURAL DISTRICT COUNCIL OF MISTERTON 11th MARCH 1925." Mr. Gent was the Justice of the Peace of the small town and rural area of Misterton, Nottinghamshire, England, and the inscription also has the names of other council members. This basket is solidly made and heavy, and it was actually plated with sterling over the original parcel gilding (polishing has revealed gilding under polished silver areas, rather than vice-versa). As this basket was bought on the secondhand market for presentation some 15 years after its manufacture, the purchasers opted to silver over the existing gilding, which was considered somewhat ostentatious and contrary to the British taste of the day. Some of the gilding is visible on the ribbon openwork, on the upper section of the base, and on the inscription area. Further polishing will reveal the intact gilding under the thin sterling plating done probably at the time of presentation. This wonderful survivor is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than the areas of exposed gilding. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Shipping is by express tracked and insurable post. This may limit shipping to some destinations. tracked and insurable post. Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. A Cameron Surgical Supply Co surgical lamp full kit circa 1920. This unusual and early electric surgical lamp set is by the Cameron Surgical Specialty Company which was famous for their pioneering surgical and medical diagnostic and surgical lamps. This is the full kit with fittings for the ear, eye, various orifices and the odd cavity, including the head-mounted lamp as well. It includes the original 15 x 12" plush fitted case with almost the full array of original equipment. The pieces we can identify include: spreaders (yikes!), ear attachment, red bulb attachment, Vitrohm potential adjuster (looks like it screws into light sockets for power), 2 angled mirrors, printed envelope with spare bulbs, headpiece with plastic strap (the plastic has vitrified and a piece has broken off), tongue depressor in holder, angled mirror in holder (eyes or oral?), extension wall plug, stainless loops and probes in cylindrical case, 4 large blown glass extended bulbs, 2 steel brackets. There are about three empty fitted compartments from now missing items, but this set is mostly complete. The black paper covered case is in good shape with only some corner rubs, it is stamped DR. C. W. STREETS in gold, and this wonderful medical historical diagnostic artifact is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, major losses, damage or repairs. We have seen smaller kits for dedicated specialties (ears, eyes, etc.) but this appears to be the whole set in one case. Perfect for frightening your patients or for your collection.
