A 14k yellow gold large natural large oval opal ring circa 1970s. This vintage size 6 ring was custom made, and the colorful genuine opal gem stone section measures 1/2" x 5/8" . The carat weight calculator indicates the stone is approximately 2.4 carats as measured in setting. The flash has green and blue highlights with a nice internal red fire. The mark was too worn to read, and the ring tests as 14 K. It weighs 3.7 grams. It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a very faint surface scratch as seen in the pictures which appears more obvious here from the halogen-lit photographic lighting used than it does in real life. Nice statement size opal stone and a great October birthstone birthday gift idea. All condition issues are noted. All items are vintage or antique and may have signs of use and patination as would be expected. Expedited parcel post to the U.S. starts at $26 (other spots may vary). A sterling silver garnets gem stone pendant necklace circa 1960s. This vintage modernist gilt or vermeil vintage drop pendant is set with 84 genuine faceted deep red Bohemian garnets on a 16-5/8" fine link gilt sterling silver chain. Thoughtful gift for the January birthday people in your life. An antique 12k gold genuine rhodolite garnets and mine cut diamonds ring circa 1890 1900. This antique size 7-1/2 or 7.5 ring has four genuine true red colour garnets surrounded by twenty genuine mine cut diamonds in a classic marquise shape. This Victorian period piece is unmarked, but has been tested and is confirmed to be 12 K gold. It measures just over 7/8" long and is 5/16" across the elegant marquise shaped setting and it weighs 3.0 grams. Rhodolite garnets most resembled rubies in colour, so were a desirable gem stone even in the 19thC. It is in excellent antique condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. This ring was a popular style at that time, sometimes all in diamonds, but mostly with a less expensive gemstone in the centre for contrast. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use as would be expected. Silver and silver plated items are hand-polished, not buffed, and our halogens and magnified images may exaggerate otherwise barely noticeable scratches and flaws. A 19thC Farrar Batiscan Quebec 4 gallon handled wine jug or crock, for the Marchand & Co spice, wine and liquor merchant. This 18-3/4" tall handled salt glazed stoneware jug still has the cork and it is completely hand thrown. It has a blue floral design identical with other known Farrar examples and it has a blue-wiped impressed legend stating "MARCHAND & CO MARCHANDS EPCIERES VINS ET LIQUEURS BATISCAN 4". Moses and Ebenezer Farrar were from Vermont, and they established one of the earliest stoneware potteries in Canada around 1840. Their first pottery was in St Johns Quebec, and later in Iberville Quebec. Their merchant crocks were usually not signed (by preference of the merchant, who was advertising their own goods). They closed somewhere around 1927, after the death of Ebenezer's son Georg H Farrar ((source: Early Canadian Pottery, Donald Webster, 1971). It is in very good condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some edge chips near the mouth and some original kiln burning to the blue design. An antique 14k opals and diamonds and synthetic ruby ring circa 1900. This classic late Victorian period yellow gold ring is set with two natural round cabochon opals with four antique cut genuine diamonds on each side of a central lab created ruby. This size 7 ring has natural opals with fine green and blue fire and a fiery orange internal color. The genuine diamonds are approximately 2 - 2.5 points each and the central synthetic ruby is 4 mm. across. These rings were often engagement or wedding rings for those who could afford them, diamond-only engagement rings didn't become popular until the 20th century. Synthetic rubies of this period were what we refer to as lab created gems now, they are treated genuine lesser price actual gem stones. The lab treatment gives them the appearance of genuine high price gem stones. White sapphires were and occasionally still are a stone of choice, they wear well also, as sapphires are a 9 on the Mohs stone hardness scale. Cut glass or rhinestone copies of stones are not the same. It measures 5/8" x 3/16" across the setting, the ring is unmarked due to a probable re-hooping in the past. It tests as 14k gold,) and it weighs 3.1 grams. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some slight dulling to the surface of the opals from light wear commensurate with their age. All condition issues are noted. All items are vintage or antique and may have signs of use and patina as would be expected. Expedited parcel post to the U.S. starts at $25. Rates vary by destination, value, size, weight, payment option and postal method. Other payment, tracking and insurance options are available - please inquire. An 18k sapphires and diamonds double row ring circa 1980. This vintage custom made yellow gold wedding band is a size 6-3/4 or 6.75 and set with either genuine blue sapphires or genuine blue spinels and diamonds. It features 12 fairly well-matched channel set royal blue gem stones in groups of four separated by two pairs of single point genuine diamonds. There is a slight variation of shades of blue in the stones, and they are fairly clear gems. The sapphires/spinels are princess cut or square cut, and are bezel set, so their size is 5-6 points each, estimated by gauge in setting. It weighs 3.1 gr. and the flat band design feels comfortable on and sits so could be worn with a solitaire ring. It measures 5/8" across the gem section and is 3/16" wide. It is stamped 750 (for 18 K ). The gem stones may be just a shade deeper blue than our photos, due to photo flash. It would make a unique wedding band for those who would like more than diamonds. It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs, it has patination from use. For those preferring an appraisal, we can have it done, with the buyer paying for appraisal at time of purchase. All condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have signs of use as would be expected. Expedited tracked parcel post to the U.S. starts at $26 (rates vary by distance). A 14K Australian black opal ring circa 1960s with intense color. This vintage opal is a genuine opal gem stone, most likely from the Andamooka area in Australia. It has been sugared (treated with sugar and acid) to deepen the colour. Andamooka opals can be great quality, but treating them to intensify the color has been done for many years. The setting is an abstract modern design in 14 K yellow gold, custom made for the opal. It is a size 7-3/4 or 7.75 and the opal is a cabochon opal measuring 24mm x 12mm x 4.4mm - approximately 7 carats in size. It has a fantastic colour play including intense red, green, blue, gold, orange and purple. Our pictures don't do this stone justice, and the view of the ring on a hand shows the intensity of the colours. It is stamped 14 K and this is a genuine opal all through, not a doublet. It comes with a recent independent professional gemological appraisal for $3500 CAD which does mention the sugar enhancement, so it is factored into the value given. The ring weighs 7.3 gr. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. The stone does have some minor crazing, as mentioned in the appraisal. All condition issues are noted. All items are vintage or antique and may have signs of use and patination as would be expected. GUARANTEE: ALL of our items are antique or vintage and from the period listed. Courier post to the US starts at $110 (other spots may vary, air is higher).
