An antique 14k opals and diamonds and synthetic ruby ring circa 1900. This classic late Victorian period yellow gold ring is set with two natural round cabochon opals with four antique cut genuine diamonds on each side of a central lab created ruby. This size 7 ring has natural opals with fine green and blue fire and a fiery orange internal color. The genuine diamonds are approximately 2 - 2.5 points each and the central synthetic ruby is 4 mm. across. These rings were often engagement or wedding rings for those who could afford them, diamond-only engagement rings didn't become popular until the 20th century. Synthetic rubies of this period were what we refer to as lab created gems now, they are treated genuine lesser price actual gem stones. The lab treatment gives them the appearance of genuine high price gem stones. White sapphires were and occasionally still are a stone of choice, they wear well also, as sapphires are a 9 on the Mohs stone hardness scale. Cut glass or rhinestone copies of stones are not the same. It measures 5/8" x 3/16" across the setting, the ring is unmarked due to a probable re-hooping in the past. It tests as 14k gold,) and it weighs 3.1 grams. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some slight dulling to the surface of the opals from light wear commensurate with their age. All condition issues are noted. All items are vintage or antique and may have signs of use and patina as would be expected. Expedited parcel post to the U.S. starts at $25. Rates vary by destination, value, size, weight, payment option and postal method. Other payment, tracking and insurance options are available - please inquire. An 18k sapphires and diamonds double row ring circa 1980. This vintage custom made yellow gold wedding band is a size 6-3/4 or 6.75 and set with either genuine blue sapphires or genuine blue spinels and diamonds. It features 12 fairly well-matched channel set royal blue gem stones in groups of four separated by two pairs of single point genuine diamonds. There is a slight variation of shades of blue in the stones, and they are fairly clear gems. The sapphires/spinels are princess cut or square cut, and are bezel set, so their size is 5-6 points each, estimated by gauge in setting. It weighs 3.1 gr. and the flat band design feels comfortable on and sits so could be worn with a solitaire ring. It measures 5/8" across the gem section and is 3/16" wide. It is stamped 750 (for 18 K ). The gem stones may be just a shade deeper blue than our photos, due to photo flash. It would make a unique wedding band for those who would like more than diamonds. It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs, it has patination from use. For those preferring an appraisal, we can have it done, with the buyer paying for appraisal at time of purchase. All condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have signs of use as would be expected. Expedited tracked parcel post to the U.S. starts at $26 (rates vary by distance). Rates vary by destination, value, size, weight, payment option, etc. Other payment, tracking and insurance options are available - please inquire. PLEASE NOTE: We DO NOT accept Paypal.

An attractive Victorian period 15K yellow gold genuine rubies and pearls ring circa 1880s. This dainty antique size 4-1/2 or size 4.5 ring features fine sculpting and a beaded edge, two 5 point by gauge genuine rubies and three genuine half pearls gem stones. This lovely antique ring has a B&H maker's mark and the remnants of quite worn English hallmarks and it tests as 15 K. It has a brilliant intense yellow gold Roman or matte finish, which was popular at the time, as it gave the ring the appearance of 22K gold. The rubies appear a little washed out in the pictures, they are a deeper red in real life. It weighs 2.5 grams, and it is in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use as would be expected. A 14K Australian black opal ring circa 1960s with intense color. This vintage opal is a genuine opal gem stone, most likely from the Andamooka area in Australia. It has been sugared (treated with sugar and acid) to deepen the colour. Andamooka opals can be great quality, but treating them to intensify the color has been done for many years. The setting is an abstract modern design in 14 K yellow gold, custom made for the opal. It is a size 7-3/4 or 7.75 and the opal is a cabochon opal measuring 24mm x 12mm x 4.4mm - approximately 7 carats in size. It has a fantastic colour play including intense red, green, blue, gold, orange and purple. Our pictures don't do this stone justice, and the view of the ring on a hand shows the intensity of the colours. It is stamped 14 K and this is a genuine opal all through, not a doublet. It comes with a recent independent professional gemological appraisal for $3500 CAD which does mention the sugar enhancement, so it is factored into the value given. The ring weighs 7.3 gr. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. The stone does have some minor crazing, as mentioned in the appraisal. All condition issues are noted. All items are vintage or antique and may have signs of use and patination as would be expected. GUARANTEE: ALL of our items are antique or vintage and from the period listed. Courier post to the US starts at $110 (other spots may vary, air is higher). A striking vintage Mexican sterling pendant set with a mixture of inlaid lapis and malachite, with a large cabochon cut tiger eye gem in the centre c1950-60. Two of the dangling pendants are also inlaid with lapis and malachite, and the centre dangle is solid silver. The pendant alone measures 3-3/4" x 2-1/8", and weighs 26.2 grams. It is stamped STERLING 925 with the eagle mark with a 2 in the centre, and the initials MR. There was a silversmith named Melecio Rodriguez who worked at the Rancho Alegre and for Margot de Taxco, but I can't verify if this is his work or not. It comes with a 18-1/2" sterling heavy link chain (weighs 16.7 grams, not Mexican manufacture). It is in very good condition, but please note than there is 1/8" piece missing from the second inlaid drop of the pendant. Otherwise it is in lovely condition, no breaks, wear, repairs or damage. A superb quality 4-3/8" across Sorrento ware wood inlay trinket or jewellery box from the mid to late 19th century. This box stands 1-3/4" high and it has wonderful colour and workmanship. The sides feature red banding and a Greek key design in green, yellow and black with a brown ground. The top is the highlight, with literally thousands of individually placed fruitwood tesserae in a needlepoint-style flower and leaf panel decoration - the effect isquite similar to a carpet; the colours are bright and unfaded and the fine workmanship is remarkable. The interior of the box is olive wood. The condition of this unsigned, brass-hinged box is very good indeed for a box of its age and type, with only some very small barely noticeable losses and craquelure to the finish. There is a small loss along the edge of one corner panel, some minor lid warping to the hinge and front edge leaving small gaps, a thin crack and small corner losses to one lower red band on one side panel and the possible replacement of one half of one hinge with a non-brass one. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
