A Jazz Age Art Deco standing flatware box or chest from the 1930s. This unusual beauty has a silver and red paper Deco design over wood construction and it has a fitted interior. It measures 14-1/2" wide, 5" deep and it stands 11-3/4" tall when resting on its base. It has a silver plated clasp on the hinged lid which opens to reveal the plush-lined fitted interior which has a WM. A. ROGERS silk banner. Very few of these boxes were meant to stand upright, and this one looks great in your deco dining room. It is in very good condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some expected wear to the base corners and edges and a couple of minor scuffs or scrapes. The foiled paper base also has some rubbing and a minor paper loss. A sterling & cut glass bonbon or butter basket 1900-1920. This decorative swing-handled serving dish has a cut glass bowl and it is either for candy or butter. This 5-1/4" dish has a swing-up pierced handle and a thick pierced silver mount, which has the mark STERLING as well as an obscured maker's mark; it would make a great bonbon or mint dish. A Whiting Madam Morris sterling gravy ladle circa 1909. This 7-1/8" long sterling silver gravy ladle is in the Madam Morris flatware pattern, introduced by Whiting in 1909. The bowl measures 2-1/2" x 2-1/4" and it is 3/4" deep. This this serving piece weighs 64 grams (over 2 ounces of silver). It has not ever been monogrammed. An early magenta transfer cup and saucer from the 1830s-1850s. This nice early example of transferware is a 2-3/8" high footed cup and matching 6" saucer with a fine magenta (purple/red) colour floral transfer with handpainted highlights. It has a painted 2/441 pattern mark and a formed fluted column design. The saucer is deep for drinking from (an 18th and 19th century custom) and it is typical for the era. This attractive item is in very good original condition with no cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a small rim chip on the bottom of the saucer as well as some barely noticeable areas of glaze wear on two flowers and one flute on the cup (see enlargement). A fine hand painted and gold trimmed Dresden factory painted porcelain lidded jam or marmalade pot by Donath & Co. c1900. This 5-1/2" tall serving piece features different floral scenes on each panel between the footed columns and on the lid; it is marked with DRESDEN with the crown mark for Donath & Co. (1893-1916), and it has a gold rose painted over the Thomas maker's name. It also has the retailer's stamp for Ryrie Bros. Ltd. of Toronto (who were bought out by Birks in the 1920s). A Royal Doulton blue and gold H4115 coffee pot from the 1950s. This high quality, elegant 7-7/8" tall serving piece features ornate gilding with patterned bands with a diaper decoration and foliage as well as a band of royal blue in a spongeware style on the lid and upper shoulder. It also has lush gold trim and it has the Royal Doulton mark as well as B1371 and H4115 pattern numbers. An authentic and vintage Dutch Delft blue and white 9-1/4" plate. This plate has a floriate design and it has the expected blue-tinged underglaze. This unsigned plate has an underglaze 8, and it is in fair condition with the loss of the glaze around the rim, some rim chips (with crude colour touchups), a glued bisected break and a y-shaped crack meeting at the bisected break. The glue is old-style yellow, and this plate is certainly worthy of restoration. A vintage Victorian period porcelain pink lustre 5 piece condiment or cruet set depicting a playing pair of cherubs or children with the legend "A present from Rathdowney" (a town located in County Laois, Ireland). This 5-3/8" across set is 5-1/4" deep and stands 4-1/2" high with the lids and shaker insert. It includes the base with molded leaf decoration, gold trim and the original spoon for the lidded mustard pot; the shaker inserts into one of the cups. The lustre is a Sunderland pink, popular in the mid to late 19th century, and this set has an incised 776 on the bottom and was most likely made originally in Austria or Germany, and sold in Rathdowney. This set is in excellent original condition with no cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a touch of gold wear and a small 1/8" interior shallow rim chip on the mustard bowl and a small loss to the transfer decoration. There are the expected bits of frit and the mustard lid is original but is not a precise fit.
